Reliance Jio has announced a suite of cutting-edge AI-powered upgrades for the JioHotstar app. These include a voice assistant, real-time dubbing technology, immersive cricket viewing modes, and enhanced multi-angle streaming options.
Riya: Jio’s New Voice Assistant
Akash Ambani, Chairman of Jio, introduced Riya, a voice-enabled search assistant designed to simplify content discovery.
“Finding what to watch from thousands of hours of content can feel overwhelming. That’s why we have built Riya, your new voice-enabled search assistant that makes discovering content effortless. Riya is built for the way you think and speak, whether it’s key moments from your favorite shows,” Ambani said.
Riya understands natural language queries, helping users find episodes, seasons, and even specific moments across years of content.
Voice Print: Real-Time Dubbing with AI
JioHotstar is also rolling out Voice Print, a real-time AI voice-cloning and dubbing feature. This technology allows users to watch shows and movies in their preferred local language while retaining the original actor’s voice, tone, and expressions—thanks to advanced lip-sync and AI cloning.
“With the power of AI voice cloning and lip-sync technology, your favorite stars will not just get dubbed, they will speak in your language, in their own voice, with perfect lip-sync on screen,” Ambani added.
JioLenZ: Multiple Viewing Angles
Another addition is JioLenZ, a feature that lets viewers enjoy content from different camera angles based on their screen orientation. This feature brings a more dynamic and personalized way to watch movies, shows, and sports events.
MaxView 3.0: Immersive Cricket Mode
The biggest highlight for sports fans is MaxView 3.0, an immersive cricket viewing feature. It provides live scorecards, instant highlights, language options, and multiple camera angles in real time.
“This cricket viewing experience has been designed around the way you naturally hold your phone, making it more immersive, more intuitive, and closer to the action than ever before,” Ambani said.
Launch Timeline
While the announcements generated excitement, Reliance has not revealed when these features will officially roll out. Neither the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) nor the Jio website has listed a launch timeline yet.
