India’s unlisted and pre-IPO equity market has long operated within a fragmented and largely opaque ecosystem. Characterised by informal brokerage networks, discretionary pricing mechanisms, and limited standardisation, the space has traditionally posed challenges for investors seeking clarity on valuation, pricing logic, and transaction fairness.
Against this backdrop, Anubhav – an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and a senior corporate leader with over two decades of experience – is working to address these systemic gaps through Unlisted Edge, a platform designed to bring greater transparency, discipline, and information integrity to unlisted securities transactions.
During his corporate career, Saxena observed how the absence of structured disclosure frameworks and the prevalence of opaque pricing practices often led to distorted investor outcomes. Limited access to reliable data, coupled with informal spreads and embedded commissions, frequently left market participants without a clear understanding of fair value or risk context in unlisted equity deals.
To address these constraints, Saxena conceptualised Unlisted Edge as a disclosure-first, information-driven platform focused on enabling informed decision-making in private market equities. The platform is built around a central principle: pricing clarity without discretionary margins. Rather than relying on negotiated mark-ups, Unlisted Edge emphasises verifiable data inputs, expert-validated financial insights, and transparent processes to support investors interests.
By prioritising market intelligence, structured financial reporting, and contextual analysis, the platform aims to reduce dependence on informal brokerage practices and enable investors to evaluate opportunities on a more comparable and disciplined basis.
This governance-oriented approach has received early academia validation. Unlisted Edge has been selected for incubation under the Launchpad-29 programme at NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore—an initiative recognised for supporting ventures that demonstrate strong ideation concepts, scalable models, and alignment with evolving customer preferences. The selection reflects confidence in the platform’s foundational philosophy and its potential contribution to India’s maturing private capital ecosystem.
At its core, Unlisted Edge is designed to enhance investor understanding rather than promote speculative trading. The platform places emphasis on clarity of disclosures, long-term value orientation, and contextual insights over short-term transactional incentives. By formalising how information on unlisted equities is presented and interpreted, it seeks to shift investor behaviour away from rumor-driven decision-making toward fundamentals-based evaluation.
This approach is particularly relevant as interest in pre-IPO and unlisted opportunities grows among informed retail investors, family offices, and long-term capital allocators seeking exposure beyond public markets.
As India’s private markets evolve alongside increasing regulatory oversight, platforms that prioritise transparency, compliance awareness, and investor education are likely to play a more central role in shaping market trust. Saxena’s transition from corporate leadership to entrepreneurship reflects a broader trend of experience-led innovation- where domain expertise is applied to addressing long-standing market inefficiencies rather than perpetuating them.
With institutional incubation support from NSRCEL, IIM-B and a clearly articulated investor-first philosophy, Unlisted Edge adequately positions itself as a trust-enabling layer within India’s unlisted equity landscape.
