As the golden glow of Dhanteras illuminates homes across the country, the stars of Sun Neo — Suraj Pratap Singh from Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani, Akash Jagga from Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani, and Anandita Sahoo from Satyaa Sachee — open up about their cherished childhood memories and what the festival means to them today.
Suraj Pratap Singh: “Dhanteras Was About Togetherness and Blessings”
Suraj Pratap Singh, who plays Prem in Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani, recalls his fondest memory of celebrating Dhanteras at home.
“I still remember sitting beside my mother during the evening pooja, watching her carefully clean and decorate the coins and jewellery with haldi and kumkum. The glow of the diyas, the fragrance of ghee, and that feeling of peace in our home — it all felt magical,” he shares.
“For her, Dhanteras was about praying for prosperity and protection, but for me, it was about the joy of being together as a family. This year, I’ll be celebrating on the sets of Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani with my cast and crew, and praying to Goddess Lakshmi for the success of our show and everyone involved.”
Akash Jagga: “The Greatest Wealth Is Good Health”
For Akash Jagga, who portrays Kundan in Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani, Dhanteras has always been a festival of joy, laughter, and meaningful traditions.
“Dhanteras marks the beginning of Diwali, and my family and I always buy something in gold,” he says. “But over time, I’ve realized that the greatest wealth isn’t gold or money — it’s good health. After all, health is wealth.”
Reminiscing about his childhood, he adds, “I remember my mom and grandmother making sweets while my cousins and I sneaked laddoos from the kitchen. The aroma of mithai, the laughter, and the flicker of diyas made everything magical. Even today, on the sets of Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani, I’ve found a new family — we laugh, share moments, and support one another. I pray to Goddess Lakshmi to bless every home with happiness and prosperity.”
Anandita Sahoo: “A Small Steel Box That Taught Me the Value of Savings”
Satyaa Sachee star Anandita Sahoo, who plays Satyaa, treasures a heartfelt childhood memory from Dhanteras.
“I still remember when my father brought home a small steel box with my name on it. I was just 11, and it was the first thing that felt truly mine. He told me, ‘Whenever you get some money, keep it in this box — you never know when it might help you.’ That lesson about saving and self-reliance has stayed with me ever since,” she shares.
“This Dhanteras, like every year, I’ll buy something special with my earnings and celebrate with both my family and my Satyaa Sachee team, praying for everyone’s happiness and success.”
