Golden Star Club Celebrates 18th Dussehra Festival in Garhi; Son Carries Forward Father’s Tradition

New Delhi, October 21, 2026: Golden Star Club successfully organized its 18th consecutive Dussehra festival in Garhi, East of Kailash, New Delhi, with great enthusiasm and devotion. The celebration featured a captivating performance of the Ramleela, depicting the life and victories of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram, followed by the traditional burning of Ravana’s effigy, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil.

Corporator Shri Rajpal Singh Ji attended the event as the Chief Guest. The programme was presided over by Golden Star Club President Shri Banwari Lal Sharma Ji, with Club Chairman Shri Sunil Vashishth Ji also playing a key role in the celebration.

Artists Captivate the Audience with Ramleela Performances

The Ramleela performances were among the major highlights of the festival, as the artists impressed the audience with their acting and powerful portrayals of iconic characters from the Ramayana.

Shri Anil Ji, who had previously portrayed the character of Taadka, took on the role of Kumbhakaran this year. Karan Ji continued his familiar portrayal of Meghnath, while Lucky Anand Ji played the role of Ravana. Naveen Ji once again won appreciation for his energetic and powerful performance as Hanuman Ji.

Son Continues His Father’s Tradition

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the celebration was the continuation of a family tradition. Inspired by his father, Anil Ji, his son Gopal has been portraying the character of Aghori for several years, carrying forward the family’s association with theatrical performances.

Anil Ji’s nephew, Mukesh, has also been contributing to this tradition, demonstrating how cultural practices and artistic interests are being passed down through generations.

Club Members Play a Key Role in the Event’s Success

The successful organization of the 18th Dussehra festival was made possible by the dedicated efforts and valuable contributions of Golden Star Club members and volunteers.

The club extended special appreciation to Veeru Sahani, Inderyogi Singh, Bhagwat Pachori, Sangeeta Sharma, Rakesh Pal, Jai Dev Jaggi, Rocky Sahani and Deepak for their significant support in making the event a success.

The annual celebration once again reflected the spirit of Dussehra, bringing the local community together to celebrate Indian cultural traditions, devotion and the timeless message that good ultimately triumphs over evil.
