The architecture choices that make 16:9 vertical scroll possible — plus the fraud layer, data residency implementation, and view-counting engine most platforms get wrong.
Behind the simple “swipe up to see the next landscape video” user experience sits a technical stack most platforms would struggle to replicate.
MeTubez runs on AWS infrastructure with global CDN delivery optimized for Indian viewing patterns. Content is encoded at multiple adaptive bitrates to serve smartphones ranging from entry-level sub-₹10,000 devices on 2G connections to premium devices on 5G networks. The platform’s architecture handles landscape 16:9 playback with vertical scroll transitions — a UI pattern no major platform offers natively.
The view-counting engine is where most emerging platforms cut corners. MeTubez doesn’t. Every view passes through a multi-layer validation pipeline before it earns a creator a single rupee.
A valid Meshort view requires either 10 seconds of actual watch time or 50% of the video duration — whichever comes first. A valid Video view requires 30 seconds or 25% of duration. The same user is capped at two valid views per video per 24 hours. Self-views are excluded. Device fingerprinting prevents multi-account inflation. IP velocity monitoring catches scripted traffic. Autoplay-only views are credited at 50% weight. Any video crossing one million views in 24 hours triggers manual review.
“Our view count isn’t inflated for creator vanity or advertiser deception. Every view we report, we can defend to a brand or an auditor,” said Raj Shah, COO of MeTubez and Director of Swytch Web3 Technologies Pvt Ltd.
Data residency is architected at the storage layer. All user data, content, analytics, and creator payout records are stored and processed within India, in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. Legal jurisdiction remains Indian. For creators, viewers, and advertisers, every data point stays under Indian regulatory oversight.
Consumer apps succeed in polish. Platforms succeed in architecture. MeTubez is built for the second category.
