SAN DIEGO: Representing the highly anticipated Ramayana at the prestigious San Diego Comic-Con, “Rocking Star” Yash shared his perspective on why the timeless Indian epic continues to strike a chord with audiences across different generations and cultures. Calling it an “OG story,” the actor emphasized that its roots lie deeply in universal human emotions.
Taking Indian Cinema to the Global Stage
Speaking passionately about introducing the monumental film to an international audience, Yash expressed his pride in representing Indian cinema globally.
“I’m feeling proud, very happy. I think it’s high time India and Indian stories had to be told on global platforms,” Yash stated. “The audience here is enthusiastic about films and visual spectacles, so it’s the right audience and the right energy.”
The “OG Story” and its Timeless Appeal
When asked to explain why the Ramayana has endured for centuries, the actor pointed to its core relatability, stripping away the grand mythology to focus on its fundamental humanity.
“This is a story which has stayed for thousands of years, so there must be some reason why it has stayed. I would say it’s the OG story—one that everybody can relate to,” he explained.
Yash further highlighted that beyond the film’s massive scale and visual grandeur, it is the emotional core that makes the narrative timeless. “Though it is told as a larger-than-life visual spectacle, the subject matter is very basic and very human. It deals with the conflicts we all face every day… You have both good and bad inside you, and what you subscribe to makes you who you are.”

While fans eagerly await his portrayal in the epic adaptation, the actor will next be seen on the big screen in Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups. The highly anticipated project is slated for a theatrical release on August 26.
