A New Academic Pinnacle: Dr. Rohit Batra awarded Ph.D. in Human Resource Management

Dr. Batra’s achievement not only exemplifies personal triumph but also reinforces IMSR’s continued mission of fostering scholarly growth and leadership across diverse fields of study. With more than 23 years of distinguished experience in global luxury hospitality, Rohit Batra stands out as a highly accomplished leader in Learning & Development, Quality Assurance, Talent Management, and Service Excellence. His career spans key leadership roles across the Maldives, Bahrain, Qatar, and India, making him one of the region’s most respected experts in building high-performance cultures and elevating guest experience standards.

Rohit currently serves as the Cluster Quality & Learning Manager (Regional Role) for Minor Hotels – Maldives, where he oversees service quality, training strategy, and brand experience development across four luxury and upscale resorts: Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas, NH Collection Maldives Havodda Resort, NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort, and NH Kuda Rah Maldives Resort. Since February 2023, he has been instrumental in developing structured learning systems, aligning properties with Forbes Travel Guide standards, and ensuring consistently exceptional guest experiences.

His hospitality career began with Kempinski Hotels, where he was part of the pre-opening team of The Leela Palace Kempinski Bangalore. He later advanced through several prestigious brands, including Taj Krishna Hyderabad (The Leading Hotels of the World), where he refined his operational and leadership skills. His transition to GE Capital added depth to his human resources expertise, merging corporate HR capabilities with hospitality operations.

Rohit then contributed to Warwick Hotels & Resorts as part of the HR pre-opening team for Warwick Doha, where he helped establish foundational HR systems and training modules. His tenure with ITC Hotels, leading Training & Quality for four luxury properties, solidified his reputation as a transformational leader capable of driving culture, performance, and operational discipline. At the Sheraton Bahrain Hotel (Marriott International), he further enhanced service capabilities through brand-aligned training initiatives. His work at OZEN LIFE MAADHOO, an ultra-luxury resort in the Maldives, was pivotal in shaping a world-class service culture and strengthening the resort’s global reputation.

Known for his structured, people-centric approach, Rohit specializes in service culture building, leadership development, ISO-based quality frameworks, SOP design, pre-opening support, and talent acceleration strategies. His training programs have significantly contributed to improved guest satisfaction scores, enhanced operational alignment, and stronger brand consistency across diverse teams and multicultural environments.

Rohit is deeply committed to continuous learning. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Human Resource Management (expected 2026) and an Executive Leadership Program from eCornell (expected 2025). His academic qualifications include a PG Diploma in HRM (IMT Ghaziabad), B.Com (Delhi University), Diplomas in Hospitality Management (AHLEI, USA), and Hotel Management (IHM Shri Shakti). His certifications include FSMS ISO 22000:2018 Lead Auditor, HACCP Internal Auditor, ServSafe, and Certified L&D Professional (CLDP).

In recognition of his contributions, Rohit was honored as one of the Global Top-Most Iconic Learning & Development Leaders – 2025 by the World HRD Congress, affirming his influence on hospitality training and leadership development.
